2006 WorldCargo News Report on Yard Gantry Crane Manufacture

Global RTG output is set to rise 40% this year. However, there are proportionally fewer orders due for completion in 2007.
The latest WorldCargo News survey of yard gantry crane manufacture, published as part of the October 2006 issue of WorldCargo News confirms that RTG production will again break all records in 2006, as upwards of 950 cranes are due for delivery worldwide.
This unprecedented output, if achieved, will be up more than 40% on the 673 supplied during 2005 and one of the strongest increases ever reported. It surpasses 2004, when RTG output rose almost 40% and nearly topped 600 units for the first time. Annual output is today over four times greater than in the mid/late 1990s.
RMG production, which topped 100 units in 2006, is also analysed.
