N Xpress, backed by Norasia (which has just been acquired by CSAV), has been launched to operate an innovative terminal-to-door service from the Far East to Europe...
It will be marketed by Germany-based ECS Express Container Service, headed by Werner Pinnow (ex-Hapag Lloyd), Johnny Grübl and Rainer Völme.
The service between Hong Kong and Trieste (using five of Norasia's 1350 TEU ships) includes an integrated land leg to designated terminals in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. It is hoped to cut transit times from 24 days via north continent to just 17-19 days. So Trieste can play again its classic role as the gate to south/central Europe......
