The Indian government and the southern state of Andhra Pradesh are locked in a major tussle over who should develop Gangavaram port in the province...

The Indian government has backed moves by Visakhapatnam Port, a federal government facility less than 30 km away, to develop Gangavaram (see WorldCargo News April 2000, p10). The state government, however, is in favour of private sector participation......
