RTG output hits new high

After a sharp dip in output last year, RTG suppliers are set to achieve another production record in 2000, while forward bookings for deliveries in 2001 and beyond are already running at high levels, promising at least one more good year

The latest WorldCargo News survey of RTG/RMG production shows that record deliveries are anticipated for the current year and, at the time of data compilation (September), a solid backlog of orders runs well into 2001. Next year could thus also prove to be a good year for production. One supplier, Kalmar (Sisu RTGs), which reports orders this year (so far) for more than 30 RTGs, remarks that deliveries during 2001 could include RTGs ordered between now and next June, indicating a 6-months lead time....
