A Dfl 10 mill distribution centre for Russian timber is to be opened next spring in Eemshaven by Groningen Seaports (Delfzijl and Eemshaven Port Authorities), in collaboration with Visand, a leading Russian logging company which has a monopoly over harvesting and processing in north western Russia.
A Dutch bank, NIB, is involved in the scheme and is also co-financing improvements in Visand's sawmills. Other partners are Rabo Bank and NOM....
