Asian Terminals Inc (ATI) is purchasing for an undisclosed price one post-Panamax Paceco Portainer and two Paceco Transtainers from Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co (MES) for delivery early next July to its terminal at South Harbor, Manila. In the first nine months of 2000, ATI's throughput rose 12.1 per cent to 434,456 TEU.
The new crane will have full ac Yaskawa Electric Corp integrated drive control, PLC and CMMS systems. It replaces the two damaged Mitsubishi cranes ATI sold recently to Impsa (see WorldCargo News, October 2000, p2) which, it is understood, will be placed in a Malaysian port once repairs have been carried out....
