Abra-cadabra

Abra Terminales Marítimas (ATM), the Urbaser (Dragados)-led company set up to run the new container terminal in Bilbao's outer harbour extension, is studying the takeover of incumbent operator Macandrews Euroterminal, part of Andrew Weir Shipping (AWS).

ATM has to invest heavily in the new terminal, but in the short-term at least traffic can come only from the existing operators, Macandrews and TMB. It therefore has every incentive to get its hands on AWS' business....
