Two features stand out in the Spanish container port scene today.
On the one hand, construction companies have plenty of funds to invest in terminals; and on the other hand, ports such as Huelva, Gijón, Santander, Málaga and Tarragona want to develop bigger facilities and perhaps take on the "top flight" of Algeciras, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao. A free zone is to be opened in Tarragona for the Port of Rosario in Argentina (see also last month's World-Cargo News, p26)...
