International Asset System (IAS), the developer of the InterBox Internet-based container exchange system, has decided to suspend its European operations with effect from the end of this month.
A spokesman for IAS said the company had decided to concentrate on the North American intermodal market where a customised version of InterBox has been highly successful. Shipping lines MOL, OOCL and NYK together with a number of stacktrain operators are utilising InterBox to make all their US-inland empty containers available for reservation, while over 550 users - primarily IMCs - are now using InterBox to book equipment....
