Four bid for Haldia

Four firms have responded to a call for tenders from Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) near Calcutta offering its berth number 11 on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis. The berth will be 212m long with a backup area of 12,000 m2.

The four bidders are understood to be P&O Ports, South India Corporation (Agencies) Ltd (SICAL), Sea Consortium Pte of Singapore in association with with Gokak Patel and Company, and Martred Holdings of Germany. The tender was originally floated in August last year, but was cancelled because of "technical flaws."...
