Chennai rate hike

Chennai Container Terminal Ltd (CCTL), which was formed by P&O Ports to develop, operate and manage the Chennai container terminal, has proposed a steep hike in handling charges at the southern Indian port.

Port users, including ship agents, stevedores, custom house agents and representatives of various chambers of industry, are angry at the proposals, which must be approved by the Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP)....
