A new Italian shipping company, Sardi, is set to enter the competitive Tirrenian ro-ro market with the purchase, for Lit10 bill, of two ro-ros from Turkish Adriatic operator UND - und transfer and und transporter.
Sardi has links with tanker company Fabrizio Freschi in Piombino (Elbana di Navi-gazione) and with Sardinia-based trailer operator Battista Nieddu which, up to now, has been an important customer for two Sardinia-mainland ferry operators, Moby Lines and Lloyd Sardegna....
