The development of a European policy for increasing the transfer of freight from road and rail to inland waterways, together with investment in new facilities to promote shipping along the Danube Corridor, will be two of the key issues to be addressed at "The Danube Summit," a two-day conference hosted by the Port of Constantza, Romania, taking place on 26 and 27 June 2002.
The event, which will bring together over 300 governmental policy makers, cargo shippers, transport operators and logistics service suppliers, is being supported and endorsed by the Romanian Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing, the Danube Commission, Inland Navigation Europe (INE) , Via Donau, the European Intermodal Association and IVR....
