US-based Nascent Software and Avia Vision Technology (AVT), Hong Kong have come up with a new container yard inventory check vehicle using the latter company's well-known optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
The vehicle, termed MIV(mobile inventory vehicle), uses a host of location sensors, high definition digital cameras and AVT's OCR engine to calculate the exact inventory of ISO containers within a wheeled parking row, including vacant and chassis-occupied stalls....
