Nordseewerke GmbH (NSWE), formerly Thyssen Nordseewerke GmbH, has come up with a new geared Panamax container vessel design, which is available with 3500 TEU or 4100 TEU capacity.
Commercial manager R Stellamanns believes the market will pick up in one-two years from now when the first orders would be ready. The 3500 TEU version has an LOAof 237.3m (266.75m for the 4500 TEUversion), a beam of 32.2m (same), service speed of 24 knots (24.3 knots) and a draft of 12.2m (same). It has 500 (600) reefer connections and is equipped with three 40-45 ton pedestal cranes (same)....
