Nascent for NS

Nascent Technology, LLC and Integrated Data Communication Systems (IDCS) have been awarded a contract by Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS) to install an automated gate system at a new intermodal terminal outside Atlanta. Nascent will install its Synapse gate system together with IDCS's automated damage and repair billing systems.

Synapse, says Nascent, allows the terminal to increase throughput of intermodal assets while reducing data entry error rates. It combines high resolution OCR technology to read alphanumeric ID numbers of containers, trailers and chassis as well as truck licence plates, while the existing inspection and repair billing system will be augmented by IDCS. NS personnel will be able to monitor and control all system operations remotely....
