Efficiency and productivity levels at south India's Chennai port container terminal are expected to rise significantly after the installation of two new quay cranes, which arrived at the port late last month.
"We expect to achieve about 25 moves per hour per crane," said Ganesh Raj, CEO of Chennai Container Terminal Ltd (CCTL). "This would be on a par with or even better than Colombo and Singapore, both having similar productivity levels."...
