The Patrick/P&O Ports joint terminals IT project, 1-STOP Connections (see WorldCargo News February 2003, p1) is reporting solid progress as it pushes towards its goal of an integrated information exchange system for Australia’s major container terminals.
1-STOP has upgraded its website (www.1-stop.biz) to include notifications, alerts service and a number of other enhancements, as well as vessel schedules, receival and delivery times and container movements and reports. The company has also told the Victorian Transport Association Goods General Cartage Committee that it is on target to launch its electronic Vehicle Booking System (VBS) by June 2004. 1-STOP CEO Peter Kosmina said the stevedores remain in the process of working out the business rules which will govern the VBS system, with issues regarding P&O Ports’ B and A class carrier still unresolved....
