Short sea operators Eucon Shipping & Transport, a subsidiary of Irish Continental Group (ICG), and Eurofeeders, part of BG Freight Line, a subsidiary of the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, have agreed to enter into a vessel sharing agreement (VSA) with effect from 1 October.
The companies are to pool capacity on a number of shared routes linking North West Continental Europe, Ireland and Great Britain in an effort to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve service to customers. Capacity and schedules on routes linking the ports of Dublin, Cork and Belfast with Southampton, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Antwerp and Rotterdam will benefit from the pooling of capacity through increased frequency and improved schedule integrity, the companies say....
