For the first time, Sisu diesel engines are being fitted to Kalmar tractors - a total of 12 TRX 182 ro-ro machines headed mainly for Finnish customers from the Tampere assembly line - Steveco in Kotka, Finnsteve in Helsinki and Rauma Stevedoring, all already familiar with Sisu engines in straddle carriers.
Sisu Diesel is a daughter company of the Valtra farm tractor business which, like Kalmar Industries, is owned by Kone Corporation. Coincidentally, Kone put Valtra and Sisu Diesel up for sale recently and an agreement worth E600 mill has just been reached with Agco Corporation, based in Duluth, Georgia, USA....
