As expected, the first five berths of the new container terminal being built at Yangshan islands, 30 miles offshore from Shanghai, will be managed and operated by Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), which was spun off from the Shanghai Port Authority last year.
Tao Huifu, SIPG’s deputy general manager in charge of terminal operations and port-related business, said, “Work is progressing much faster than planned and will be completed earlier than initially scheduled.”...
