The Cool Chain Association (CCA), which has more than 40 members in the global perishables industry, and IATA, which represent over 270 member airlines, have decided to cooperate through the IATA Live Animal and Perishables Board (LAPB) with the objective of improving global logistics standards for perishable and temperature sensitive products.
CCA’s work towards improving quality in the temperature sensitive logistics chain has already resulted in the creation of the Cool Chain Quality Indicators (CCQIs), which were jointly developed by CCA and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to provide a means of gauging the reliability, quality and proficiency of companies involved in the transport, handling and storage of perishables (see WorldCargo News June 2004, p30)....
