Maersk Sealand’s ≥6600 TEU CARSTEN MAERSK recently became the biggest ship ever to visit an Egyptian port when she called at Suez Canal Container terminal (SCCT) in East Port Said, operated by A P Møller-Maersk affiliate APM Terminals.
The first phase of SCCT, with four berths along 1200m of deep water quay (16.5m, which can be deepened to 17.5m if required) equipped with 12 superpost-Panamax gantry cranes from ZPMC, was recently declared officially open and has been operating since last October....
