Lloyd’s Register (LR) is to class the world’s largest declared capacity containerships - four 10,000 TEU vessels to be built in Korea by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for China Ocean Shipping Co (Cosco). The vessels will be delivered between late 2007 and mid-2008.
Each of the ships will have a length overall of 349m, a breadth of 45.6m and a depth of 27.2m. and be fitted with a 12-cylinder 94,000 hp engine to enable a trading speed of 25.8 knots....
