Chennai Port in south India, where P&O Ports is already running a container terminal, has floated a global tender for a second such facility, which is being offered on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis for 30 years.
The second terminal for which there is a growing demand from users may become a reality sooner than expected. The Indian government had given an “in principle” approval for the terminal only in March this year....
