Rotterdam-based tank container operator Deltank Intermodal Services BV has been put into liquidation by its parent company Extar BV. Deltank operated a fleet of 430 tanks, all leased, and was primarily engaged in the shortsea carriage of chemicals in the UK/Northern Europe region.
Deltank has been engaged in the intermodal movement of chemicals in bulk for 25 years having been established in the UK by David Hawkins during the early days of the tank container industry. The company was subsequently purchased by Stolt-Nielsen and control eventually passed to H&P Freightways, an intermodal haulier based in Hull with which Stolt was associated for a period....
