TPA taking over inland ports

The new Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) is to take control of Tanzania’s inland ports on lakes Tanganyika, Victoria and Nyasa, which are currently managed by Marine Services Company Ltd (MSCL), a subsidiary of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC).

All MSCL assets, including tugs, cranes and storage facilities are to be transferred to the new organisation, although the government has yet to finalise the financial arrangements of the deal....
