Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) of Hong Kong is forming a joint venture with the government of Oman and Dutch company C Steinweg Handelsveem to develop and operate a container terminal and other facilities at the Port of Sohar.
HPH will have a majority stake in the two-berth Oman International Container Terminal (OICT), located adjacent to a 2000 hectare industrial estate outside the Strait of Hormuz on the sultanate’s northern coast. The terminal is scheduled to begin operations in April next year....
