Adelaide has stolen a considerable march on main rival Melbourne with the completion of dredging work in its A$45M deepening of the main Outer Harbour shipping channel.
Under a joint venture between Flinders Ports and the state government, the partners provided A$30M and A$15M respectively for the project, under which the main channel has been deepened from 12.2m to 14.2m and extended from 9 km in length to 11.7 km, to enable it to accept fully laden post-Panamax size vessels....
