NSL Engineering of Singapore has begun production of Ram spreaders at a new facility in Changshu, near to Shanghai in the JiangZhou Province. The 6400 m2 facility has been opened as part of a planned expansion by the company to ensure it meets the steadily increasing global demand for its spreaders. The project planning began in 2004 and construction work was completed by the end of 2005.
Phillip Lee, general manager, sales and marketing, explained that Singapore production is very busy and orders have become progressively bigger for the past few years. Some major port groups have currently upwards of 100 spreaders on order and the global population of Ram spreaders that must be supported has increased significantly - the Shenzhen terminals alone have around 300 Ram spreaders in use....
