As briefly reported in last month’s WorldCargo News (page 1), the Indian government has approved a plan to import seven fixed and mobile scanners for ports after a scanner installed at Jawaharlal Nehru port near Mumbai proved its utility.
A fixed scanner will be installed at Mumbai and one fixed and one mobile scanner each will be installed at Chennai and Tuticorin ports in the south and Kandla in the west.The scanners will cost nearly R17B....
