The Port Authority of Guam (PAG) is pressing ahead with plans for two or three cranes for the Jose D Leon Guerrero Commercial Port even as the port’s privatisation remains stalled by a lawsuit filed in May by ICTSI (WorldCargo News, May 2006, p10 and June 2006, p6).
The PAG wants one new ship-toshore crane and at least one used crane (either a 100t mobile harbour crane or a 40t gantry crane. The latter is to replace the 1969-built Paceco Portainer decommissioned in March after it was deemed to be unsafe and beyond repair....
