The acquisition of CVS Ferrari by Kalmar (see last month’s WorldCargo News, p1) marks a new phase in the expansion programme of Finlandbased engineering group Cargotec Corporation, which embraces Hiab, MacGregor and Kalmar.
Kalmar’s intended purchase of CVS Ferrari was referred to obliquely in the October 2006 issue of WorldCargo News, (p2) but it was impossible to name CVS as the “target” at the time as its management vigorously denied the rumours and Kalmar itself would not comment. The confirmation came in a filing by Cargotec to the Helsinki stock exchange two months later....
