Santos Brasil SA, the biggest container terminal operator in Brazil’s largest container port, has placed an order for 12 Kalmar EOne RTGs, dimensioned for 7 + 1/1 over 6 x 9ft 6in high stacking and with four wheels per corner, for delivery between September this year and Jaunary 2008.
The order includes the Smartrail autosteering and automatic container position verification systems. Early last year, Kalmar delivered five conventional hydraulic RTGs to Santos Brasil and the new order reflects the terminal’s gradual transition from reach stackers to RTGs....
