Hanjin Shipping has awarded ZPMC a contract worth almost US$200M for 12 superpost-Panamax, twin 40ft quayside cranes and 42 automated RMGs for its new development in Busan. According to ZPMC, the new order brings the number of twin 40ft quayside container cranes already delivered or on order to 130, with a value of around US$1B.
The associated drives, controls and automation systems for Hanjin’s cranes will be supplied by ABB, from its ASC 800 product range. The RMGS, which will have twin cantilevers, similar to those supplied to PNC Pusan Newport Company by Doosan, will operate parallel to the quay, with automated stacking between the legs and remote controlled operation under the cantilevers....
