The Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has handed over the operation of its main container handling facility, Ballard Pier Station (BPS), along with its two ship-to-shore cranes and three RTGs, to Gammon India (GI) for five years.
The move is a precursor to the development of the proposed offshore container terminal in Mumbai, the rights to which were won by a consortium formed by GI and Spanish operator Dragados SPL earlier this year....
