Bromma has launched a new, all-electric, separating centre twinlift spreader for ship-to-shore container cranes, designated STS45E. Having successfully introduced its “Marathon” all-electric yard crane spreaders some time ago, Bromma reported earlier this year that its new Eseries of ship-to-shore crane spreaders was finishing R&D in Stockholm; the STS45 separating centre, twin 20 spreader, which now accounts for the lion’s share of new ship-to-shore spreader sales, is the starting point for the new development.
One STS45E has been on test at Felixstowe since March this year and a second is slated to start tests with a customer in Laem Chabang next month. It is hoped to start full series production at the Ipoh, Malaysia, manufacturing plant next January....
