The new STS45E is already being fitted with SCS3, the third and latest generation of Bromma’s smart spreader control system that was first introduced in 2001. SCS3 has been on field-test at Felixstowe since March last year and Bromma expects to adopt it as standard next January.
Bromma says that SCS3 represents a major step forward beyond SCS2, as it features advances in control and communications functionality and what it calls the “first generation of spreader prognostics” [predictive maintenance] as it features rules-based artificial intelligence that can identify future fault behaviour before the fault occurs....
