Portek International Ltd has secured a 25-year concession to manage two multipurpose ports in Gabon, Port Owendo, located in the country’s capital, Libreville, and Port Gentil, located 160 km south of Libreville, where much of the country’s oil exploration and production activities take place.
Gabon Port Management SA (GPM), a Portek daughter company, beat off bids from several other international port management companies. Paid up capital of GPM is expected to be USS$6M and initial investments upon commencement of its operations will be around S$3M.
