Contecon Guayaquil SA (CGSA), wholly-owned by International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI), has introduced two new harbour mobile cranes from Gottwald and new ground handling equipment from Kalmar to beef up container handling immediately after it took over the container terminal and general cargo facilities in the Ecuadorian port.
The terminal, which handles more than 600,000 TEU/year, was previously completely dependent on ships’ gear. ICTSI worked together with Gottwald to achieve delivery and commissioning of the two G HMK 6407 cranes in just 112 days from the date the order was placed, including the ocean voyage from Germany....
