Chinese crane manufacturer Shanghai Port Machinery Plant (SPMP) is currently the second largest container quay crane manufacturer in the world after its sister company ZPMC and the second after ZPMC to produce a twin-hoist crane for tandem 40ft container operations.
Last year SPMP took orders for 32 quay cranes, 13 RTGs and eight RMGs. It has also just delivered the twin hoist crane, which it is calling its Series 3000 design, to Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) for one of its terminals at Yangshan (see last month’s WorldCargo News, p33)....
