France-based cable maker Nexans has notched the first installation of its Rheycord Basket Spreader (BS) 44C 12AWG cable in a US port. The baloney cable has been retrofitted to a Panamax Hitachi ship-to-shore crane with a ZPMC basket spreader at SSA Terminals’ facility in the Port of Oakland.
Rheycord BS cable, which is manufactured at the Nexans factory in Mönchengladbach, Germany, meets the demanding requirements of ship-to-shore cranes that need a cable that can continuously wind in and out of the basket on top of the spreader, says Nexans....
