The Grand Alliance (GA) is switching its Mediterranean transhipment operations from Medcenter, Gioia Tauro, to Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT). Both facilities are operated by Contship Italia SpA, part of Eurogate group.
According to the GA, customers using the EU2 and AEX services will benefit from this change, due to a lack of congestion at Cagliari. “As a result, schedule reliability will be enhanced, helping us to better meet customers’ needs,” said a spokesman for the GA, which is made up of Hapag-Lloyd,MISC,NYK and OOCL....
