Container handling at the Port of Mumbai’s Ballard Pier is reported to have improved significantly following the transfer of operations to a new private terminal operator.
Indira Container Terminal Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Gammon India and Dragados SPL of Spain, took over operations at the terminal recently after signing a 30 year BOT agreement with the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) to develop a new US$250M offshore container terminal (see WorldCargo News January 2007, p1)....
