The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has released guidelines for access to funding to be made available under the national government’s Sea Change policy, a programme announced in May that sets aside NZ$36M for coastal sea freight development over the next four years.
Sea Change will provide NZ$6M this year and NZ$10M for each of the three following years with a view to having at least 30% of inter-regional freight carried by sea by 2040 (current share is 15%). The government’s interim target is 20% by 2020....
