The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans has awarded a US$26.5M contract for two new container/multi-purpose gantry cranes for Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co Ltd. They will be delivered towards the end of July 2010.
The new cranes are rated at 65 LT under twin 20 spreader, with a 167ft (51m) outreach, 110ft lift height and 75ft back reach. They will be financed by a US$24.6M appropriation the port received from the Louisiana Legislature this year, with the balance coming from the Board’s capital budget....
