Terminal Pacifico Sur Valparaíso (TPSV) at the port of Valparaíso in Chile is implementing new RTG control software from Hamburg Port Consulting (HPC) to support one of the highest throughput per hectare operations in the world.
Like many older city ports, TPSV has a small and irregularly shaped yard area that is not optimal for a container terminal. TPSV began operating the terminal with reach stackers but decided to move to an RTG system when throughput surged to over 400,000TEU in 2004....
