ICTSI has taken over Brunei’s Muara Container Terminal, staking a strategic presence in the country’s only deepwater port and principal gateway where Singapore’s PSA Corp Ltd once operated.
Under the 21 May service agreement with the Ports Department of Brunei’s Ministry of Communications, ICTSI is to operate and maintain the MCT for a period of four years, which may be extended by one year at a time for a maximum of two years. Full details have not been disclosed, although it is undertood that ICTSI shall implement a “localisation” progamme under which locals would assume technical and administrative positions....
