As expected, following the successful test visits by MSC vessels of 14,000 TEU and more than 360m LOA, the Permanent Commission for Supervision of Scheldt Navigation now permits a maximum draught of 14m downstream as well as upstream (downstream was previously limited to 13.5m), and has widened the time windows.
The more flexible conditions will form a specific part of a new nautical and technical evaluation planned for the end of November. If the evaluation is positive, the Permanent Commission will issue a new version of the upstream and downstream sailing regulations....
