AAT seeks ACCC green light

The argument between competition regulators and Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT) over access and pricing at AAT’s auto and general cargo facilities looks close to settlement.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a draft decision proposing to grant conditional authorisation to AAT to operate its existing terminals at five ports. One condition would provide a mechanism for stevedores other than AAT’s shareholders to seek access to AAT terminals, while another requires that AAT provide end-users of its terminals with a dispute resolution process....
